Marine archaeology

Marine archaeology is a field of science exploring human history by examining remains found below water, or in connection to water. The subject involves among other things naval history, diving, examination and recovery of finds. The research also looks at historic naval activities and shipbuilding, harbours and live aboard ships. Examinations and excavations below water requires special knowledge and tools.
